Artistic Statement:

Nice to meet you, my name is Ai Iromoto.
I am a student at Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan. I am 23 years old.

I work with a variety of materials.
I use oil paints, acrylic paints, colored pencils, and recently I started to work with ceramics.

What I want to convey with these materials is emotion.
We live in a society. I find it very hard to live. Even if we are unwilling, we have to blend into society to survive. When large groups of people crowd together, some people get crushed or broken.
My paintings are the screams of small animals targeted by their natural enemies. The screams become colors, lines, and explode.
You are to be swallowed by its muddy waters. You should be unable to think of anything else due to the energy I have emitted.

Look at my painting; the title of the third painting is "Even Monkeys Sell Sex. Monkeys seem to live freely, but they sometimes engage in prostitution.
Some monkeys have no choice but to prostitute themselves in order to get a meal. Even monkeys do not have it easy. Nobody has it easy.

I am screaming in the painting.
You too can enter the painting and scream with me.
