Inspiration
My inspiration often comes from everyday life, from memories of my childhood and hometown, moments with my father, mother, and siblings, conversations with friends, letters from loved ones, and all the small events that shape who I am.
When I recall these moments, they become the source of my creation.
My works are composed through my personal experiences and memories, I pull fragments from deep within my mind and layer them onto each motif, expressing them as the colors of memory.
I was born and raised in Sapporo, Hokkaido, the largest city in the region, yet surrounded by nature. My father often took me to places with forests, rivers, the sea, and soil. Because of that, I naturally grew fascinated by natural elements like trees, water, insects, and animals.
This connection has led me to create works that combine the natural and the artificial, shaping my experiences and memories into visual forms.
When I take photographs, I try to keep it simple.
I don’t overthink.
I just face what I want to express with honesty and simplicity.
That’s all.
What I Have Learned
To live,
to love,
to like something like music, books, clothes, people and sometimes to dislike them too. These are all essential parts of life that make me reflect on who I am.
Of course, I have studied photographic techniques and visual expression, but what has been more important for me is understanding what kind of person I am, what I want to say, and how I wish to live.
Photography has taught me many things, but so has simply living.
I want to keep expressing what I feel and remember like the tenderness and strength, the fragility and resilience, the essence of life, love, humanity,
and the balance between nature and the city.
I want to keep living, feeling, believing and expressing those memories and emotions that lie ahead of me.
