Bio

A Lithuanian acrylic painter Živilė Kasparavičiūtė is currently residing in Bali, Indonesia. Her work is a visual diary of collective and individual emotions, observed in people that she encounters or comes across on social media, also of self-reflection and life's ordinary details discovered and stitched together while travelling. The application of bold, expressive colours and thick texture are the main characteristics of Živilė’s paintings. Alt-hough the artist uses her personal and publicly available images as a starting point, spon-taneous dynamic brushstrokes and hues play a significant role in the painting process, of-ten dictating a theme she doesn't ideate before beginning to create a particular piece. An additional layer of meaning is usually attached by the viewer whose set of internal data containing either deep personal turmoils or tranquil oasis narrates stories of its own.
