I was born in Estonia, on a little island called Hiiumaa, but have lived most of my adult life in Sweden. I have always been interested in painting and my art teacher at Secondary Highschool encouraged me to continue with my art studies at the university level but circumstances led me away from that for many years. Instead, I took my MBA degree and worked as a leader for fifteen years before I, for seven years ago, decided to listen to my inner voice again. Since then, painting and creating is a big part of my life. Just before the pandemic I decided to really start over and own the path I should have taken from the beginning, to make it as an artist.
I love abstract art because it can have a different meaning for different people. There is no right or wrong. Everybody has a right for their own interpretation of what they see and feel. From my perspective, as an artist, it is liberating and extremely interesting. What I intend to pass on is not necessarily what is received.
Most of my paintings have a direct connection to my everyday life, my thoughts, my feelings and things that I find fascinating. In some way they are the diary of my life. That is also the reason why I don’t have some specific painting or artistic style or use the same media to express myself. The style and media I use depends on what will help me to express my state of mind, my thought or feeling best and I am always interested in learning more about different medias and forms of expression.
