This is a well along the trail to Wuliaojian. My grandparents loved hiking there. To reach the mountain, we had to pass by three wells, and every time we came upon one, I would feel a rush of joy. At each well, I’d get to play with the water—dipping my hands in, letting the icy coolness soak into my skin. The well water was always so refreshingly cold, it felt like a quiet kind of happiness.
