This artwork attempts to liberate us from "gravity," a fundamental force that binds our perception, and thereby pursues the emergence of "new forms" of existence. At the same time, it embodies the inquiry of wanting to take a distance from earthly physical constraints and fundamentally re-examine the essence of "form."
In contrast to the unwavering image of "dignified presence" that a torso possesses, this sculpture features gleaming metal masses that reflect light, intertwined with amorphous elements. These metal masses, which would normally fall downwards due to gravity, are maintained in mid-air by minimal, delicate wires, preserving their dignified state.
This paradoxical arrangement liberates the subject from the constraints of earthly gravity, offering us a perspective that transcends our preconceived notions. The metal masses, precariously held by wires, constantly maintain their shape yet change their expression depending on the viewing angle and lighting, as if their very existence is in continuous transformation.
Defying the law of physics that "what goes up must come down," this work, liberated from gravity, finds new equilibrium and possibilities within instability. It questions the nature of "new existence" in a contemporary society that constantly changes and evolves, refusing to be confined by existing frameworks. Through liberation from gravity, fluid and diverse aspects, previously imperceptible, emerge. This sculpture aims to stimulate the creativity inherent in each viewer, prompting new visual experiences and the expansion of perception.
