Bio
Born in 1992 and lived in Sicily until she graduated from high school, Valentina (Tina) Smeraldi moved to Rome to pursue music studies. In the following years her nomadic spirit led her to travel around the world discovering a passion for photography and cultural anthropology that will
will be traveling companions for a long time.
She initially studied as a self-taught photographer, focusing on composition, the lights, shadows and the names that have made the history of images, attending exhibitions and art galleries. Later he participates in workshops and courses on specific themes, developing his own vi-sion and representation of the world.
Since 2019 he has been working on several personal projects, including one dedicated to cli-mate change, and another dedicated instead to botanical portraits, in an attempt to lead the viewer's gaze to a new perspective that investigates the reconnection between man-nature.
As a freelance photographer, she collaborates with many artists and works as a photographer
commercial on the territory.
In 2019 she is a finalist for the Siena International Photo Award with the project “Give back to the sea his breath."
She took part in major group exhibitions including Paratissima Nice & Fair (Turin, 2022); Medina Art Gallery together with Divulgarti group (Rome, 2023) receiving the critical text of curator Loredana Trestin; Contemporary Venice 12th edition (Venice, 2023); ArteMida Experience (Milan, 2024).
Particular attention is given to the prints of the works, preferring Fine Art with
low environmental impact and, when possible, frames produced by the reuse of
materials.
