Just as pigments are the basis of color, color is one of the starting points for the creation of works of art: each color conveys a different emotion and sensation, so in art, whose purpose is to communicate emotions, colors are the most immediate and effective way to do it. The same also applies to lines and shapes, because every shape, even on an abstract level, takes on a precise function on a visual and communicative level: a wavy and sinuous line will transmit harmony and sinuosity, unlike a clear or broken line which makes the thought too. All this to say that colors and shapes, in the hands of an artist, are transformed into art: in art that does not need pre-established images but which leaves people free to let themselves be carried away by the emotions transmitted to them, without cultural filters and symbolic. This is exactly what we feel when faced with the abstract works of the artist Miwha Ikushima, like the one
we see here, entitled “Pigment of light goes”, in which we are transported to another world made up of shapes and colours, which, with their swirling movement in the work, they drag their gaze and mind inside. A world which, however, is not flat, but which, with the particular technique and materials carefully selected and used by the artist, becomes three-dimensional, perceptible not only to sight but also to touch, when we find ourselves in front of the work. Miwha Ikushima's works are therefore a true 360-degree experience.
