Francie Evans works primarily in oil paints and oil pastels. Having trained and worked in medical science and public health, she ironically turned back to her first love, art, in the midst of the global pandemic.
Her earlier pastel works are an exploration of the physical environment and the inspiration and comfort it can bring, with a particular love for natural light and the beauty that can be captured through glass and windows.
Seeking a tactile outlet for expression of the human experience, her recent oil portraiture works explore the contradictions of life’s journey; beauty and trauma, love and heartbreak, self-compassion and pain.
She lives in Brisbane, Australia.
