Bio

“The liberal use of color gives my works the power, the magic and the transcendent spirit that engulfs me. I therefore essentially paint my emotions and feelings, but I am also part of a therapeutic work by revisiting the plasticity resulting from the vibrations and pulsations of the beings of my immanence. Between poetry and painting, I exist. Sometimes I also work with music, or with silence. I create each piece like each poetry I compose”. This is how he designed the drawings that underlie his creations: between an apology for creative force and a poetic quest. It is first as a great dreamer that we should see him, an Afro-optimist who cultivates in his artistic approach this affect for living together, subject to a potential for sustainable development. By borrowing from tachism and abstract expressionism this conviction of revulsion, and setting in motion of human emotions, Date AMOUZOU intends each time to exert on the material a physical tension, and psychic close to an art that he would like " communicative”. His painting is mixed (acrylic, oil, collage). Born in 1989, he lives and works in Lomé, Togo. His work has been presented many times in Africa during individual and collective exhibitions.
