Matteo Rizzetto
Digital Artist
Bio
Italian digital artist, grew up in the Venice area and now based in Tenerife, Canarias, Spain.
He has been hooked on art - especially comics and illustrations - since he was a child, but it was not until he turned 28, in 2011, that he started to chase his artistic career professionally.
He attended a private school of Illustration in Padua between 2012 and 2013, and tried to get into the editorial world, but eventually dropped it due to life happenings.
For a while he started to paint on canvas and produce abstract art decor pieces, with which he participated at a couple of exhibitions in Milan and Rome around 2014/15 and managed to sell a few of them.
He kept drawing and painting on his own during the years, while working other jobs, trying to grow his social media channels: Facebook and Instagram. During this period of time, he started to gradually switch from traditional to digital art, and going forth and back between the two.
He moved to London for work at the end of 2018. He always kept his passion and taste for traditional art, especially oil painting, that's why he attended a private academy of traditional drawing and painting, the London Fine Art Studios, where he perfected his method.
In 2019 he finally found his true calling in portraiture. At the end of 2021, after a major life crisis, he founded his own business Sunwaves Portrait Paintings. In 2022 he moved to Tenerife and today he produces mainly digital portrait art, sometimes infused with a touch of hermetic meaning.
