Shinako Manji was born in 1967 in Tokyo, Japan, where she graduated with an AD in Art and Design at Musashino Art University. She has lived in Tokyo, London, Singapore and is currently living in Sydney; her art career was interrupted by moving across countries, but she kept painting and taking art courses and workshops when she had opportunities.

Shinako believes her experiences are a positive impact on her works. She creates various subjects such as figurative, landscape, still life and abstract ones from spontaneous forms, through the use of numerous mediums.
