I was disappointed that all my work had to be done online due to the COVID-19, but I was saved by encountering new art. That is the wonderful art called Botany Painting in Japan. The dried natural lotus leaves are freely laid out and pasted, then colored with acrylic paint. Natural veins create a one-of-a-kind design.
The lotus is considered a very noble plant in Buddhism and is said to bloom in the Pure Land. I felt that my heart was purified when I touched the lotus. The image expands infinitely, and I wanted to express the starry sky and the aurora.
