Bio

Lena Silva Short Biography: Lena Silva is a contemporary, modern artist, of Portuguese origin, resident in the United Kingdom. A lover of Arts, sophistication and simplicity greatly influenced by Renaissance art period. Oftentimes, while creating her pieces, albeit using varied mediums, its meaning becomes clear once the colours absorb light. She often gets a sense of belonging, an escape from the acrimony of daily life and chaos of society. Through her work, Lena aims to evoke light, love, happiness, and tranquillity, gifted to the observer. Her work is also an expression of her wondering of human's survival, persistence, and perpetuity of life—a fascination with life and its meaning, its consanguinity relating directly to the beauty of the experience. Growing up, Lena's artistic skills laid dormant through maturing years and dedication to her small family. Lena is a self-taught artist with a BSc Honours in Adult Health Sciences. The latest years of her life have seen a glimmering, sparkle of light in her soul, waking up her artistic skills that endeavours to continue flourishing steadily. It is her chosen method to carefully choose poetic words that best describes the emotive and story side of her work. Art is an addiction, a space of spiritual freedom of self-expression, a comfort. Lena is an instinctive expressionist of a variety of strong feelings and emotions. To her, Art gives her a sense of versatility, it opens a sea of possibilities contrasting with the monotony of life routines. Lena is a self-taught artist continuously developing. Greatest dream and aspiration are to study Arts particularly related to early renaissance movement. Admiration and inspiration by the works of Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo. Lena aims through her work to evoke a sense of spiritual tranquillity, light transcending. Oftentimes while creating, albeit using varied mediums, its meaning becomes clear once the colours absorb light. Often getting a sense of belonging an escape from the acrimony of daily life and chaos of our society. Hence, a desire to gift the observer with an explosion of emotions, love, happiness, tranquillity an escape through the eyes of her creative portraits. Lena does not let herself nor her art to be define nor imposed by people or society’s expectations. Since I can remember, noticeably young age, I have always been fascinated, attracted to art, simplicity, and a subtle taste for sophistication. Lena associates her spontaneous creativity of portraits, often of females, to creation of nature, often using the analogy of a flower to life cycles. So much could be interpreted through a character pair of eyes, experiences, life journeys, define, harsh, subtle, smooth facial lines. An undoubtably human species connection to nature’s creation. Lena is dazzled, in awe, with the variety of beautiful vibrant colours of nature, its scents, its mysticism that often in turn is reflected in her work. Wondering about human’s survival, persistence, and perpetuity of life. Lena has a fascination with the life and its meaning, its consanguinity relating directly to the beauty of experience. Lena has a personal style of describing her work through carefully picked poetry by different artists. Poetry permits a descriptive beauty without full exposer of artist’s soul. I am touched by these profound words of Leonardo Da Vinci and it inspires me to adopt such approach to my work and life as it is “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing, Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Being willing is not enough, we must do.” Furthermore, he describes “a beautiful body perishes but a work of art dies not”. "},{"title":"ADDITIONAL INFO","description":" "}]
