My favourite animal, the raven, can often be depicted as a familiar, a magical entity described in medieval periods to assist witches in their practices.Wiccan belief sought the spiritual connection between the animal form and the human, bringing the person closer to the earth through their primitive origins. I have shown a bird that in another life, may have been my familiar, carrying the eye of an unknown victim. I have left the destination to the imagination, as I placed a skull as a plaything for my friend.The raven has plucked an eye, and we can see a determination within his stance and expression.
