Augusta Treverorum!
Praise to my beautiful native city Trier, which inspired me to paint this picture.
The picture shows Emperor Augustus, under whom peace reigned for decades.
Nevertheless, his power was controversial, as he was considered to be very unscrupulous and scheming against opponents.
Is this action justified? Peace at any price?
