Bio
Ryan Brandimore is an emerging contemporary artist who works with acrylic paint on canvas. His work explores the conflicts between sexuality, religion and acceptance.
Modern and classical themes are used to portray messages of equality, love and selfacceptance.
He often plays with a mixture of styles and influences, such as the street art you would find in the alleyways of Shoreditch, East London, and the Baroque style of portrait paintings found hang-ing in the Louvre. Through an acrylic medium, he emulates the textures, worn surfaces and visual grit found in street art. This style taps into a metaphor reflecting the perseverance of beauty in the LGBTQ+ experience, despite the elements intent on tearing it down. After an extended ca-reer in international events, Ryan graduated from the Design Communication Arts program with the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA Ext.) in 2018 and is now working as a freelance graphic designer and artist. Ryan previously exhibited his work with the City of Newport Beach Art Exhibition in 2019, and currently runs his own home studio in Costa Mesa, California.
