Drafty BIOGRAFIA Drafty, aka Robert Caulk, is a digital artist living in Grenoble, France who was born in Broomfield, Colorado, USA. Robert has one foot in the pre-internet era and another foot surrendered to technology. In fact, Robert’s medium combines a broad combination of digital and analog tools including macro-photography, GIMP, Blender, and machine learning. When Drafty isn’t creating art, he is working as a scientist studying heat transfer in rocks. ARTISTIC STATEMENT Les Fleurs Perdues (Lost Flowers) is a seriescreated by Drafty while losing true love. Drafty depicts three flowers in the midst of their transformation from recognizable symbols of love into bizarre and foreign gaseous entities. Just like Drafty’s lost love, each flower is no longer recognizable and the trace remains only serve as abrupt and hollow reminders of what once was, of what will never be. In fact, these recognizable parts of the flowers may never fully fade - they represent that which can never be forgotten.
