La Machi - 40 x 40 cm La Machi (6000x6000) La Machi es la chamán(a) en la cultura tradicional del pueblo mapuche.El principal rol de ella, era la curación de dolencias, tanto los males físicos como los que se consideran derivados de la accion de fuerzas espirituales. Ademas cumplía un rol religioso dentro de la comunidad. Ella dirige la ceremonia de curación, llamado "Machitún". No cualquiera puede ser La Machi, en ella deben producirse ciertos sucesos desarrollados en la infancia. Tales como: -Sueños premonitorios. -Revelaciones sobrenaturales. -Influencia de la familia. -Transmisión hereditaria. -Poder de curación de enfermedades. -Iniciativa propia. La machi es la persona que maneja y resuelve las preocupaciones de la sociedad mapuche con respecto a las fuerzas malignas y dañinas del mundo. La machi es la figura central de la medicina mapuche, poseedora de sabiduría y poder curativo. Conoce el uso medicinal de ciertas plantas y sustancias, a fin de usar las requeridas para obtener el remedio (ḻaweṉ) adecuado. Tiene también el poder de los espíritus y los sueños (pewma), que son de gran importancia, puesto que su interpretación determina muchas decisiones importantes. La machi tiene importante conexión con su entorno, el universo y la naturaleza. Conocimiento Astral, que ayudó en cosechas y toma de decisiones. Con esta composición pretendo representar, la conexión de los pueblos originarios con la astronomía, naturaleza, y medicina, conocimiento que les sirvió para vivir durante años, y con ella misma demostraron la capacidad que tenemos como mamíferos de volver a nuestro mundo animal y conectarnos con la madre tierra (ñuke mapu) y el universo (wenu mapu, nag mapu, miñche mapu). Para los mapuche el universo se compone de tre partes. Wenu Mapu: Tierra Arriba. Nag Mapu: Tierra de Abajo Miñche Mapu: Tierra de Debajo. También con esta imagen quiero contrastar la injusticia que viven hoy en día los mapuche, y poder posicionar a esta linda mapuche en un plano surrealista,y armonioso, tal como fue su vida en sus inicios.
