Every step of your journey matters-every tear, every dream, every embrace, every smile, every action... every creation.
It is part of the red thread that, in this exhibition, does not connect you to another person. Instead, your red thread is art, and at the other end of the thread, it is always you, in the future.
So cry, then, dream, then embrace, then smile, then act... then create.
There is a tale by Ovid that tells how Ariadne saves Theseus from being lost by giving him a thread to find his way. Now, imagine Ariadne as your art. Every step you take toward it is redemptive. Following this red thread (of your creativity) will lead you to discover your true self-your creative self, your salvation. Because your art is you, and you live through it, and it, in turn, is the guide that saves you.
This FIL ROUGE is not merely a tool for salvation; it also represents the journey of knowledge, discovery, and personal and artistic growth. The exhibition aims to explore how this concept of the "thread" translates into an artistic experience: a connection between past and present, between the artwork and the observer, between myth and its contemporary reinterpretation. In the exhibition, Ariadne's red thread becomes a metaphor for creative connection. The showcased works will be selected for their dialogue with the ideas of exploration and discovery, where each artist is invited to reflect on their personal "red thread"-the theme, concept, or path that has guided and continues to guide their artistic expression. A historical example: Gustav Klimt (1907-08). Klimt, with his renowned The Kiss, can be seen as an artist who uses the "red thread" of human connection. The entwined figures, covered in intricate geometric patterns, symbolize an unbreakable bond, a thread that encircles and protects the two lovers. In this inaugural exhibition, we invite artists to reflect on what connects them-to themselves, to their art, and to the world around them. Ariadne's red thread is a symbol of continuity, connection, and discovery. Each artist is called to explore their own journey and to express that invisible thread that links their works as milestones of a personal and creative voyage.
