Bio

Aristos Christoforou Aristos Christoforou was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1989 and he studied Fine Arts at the University for the Creative Arts (BA Honours Fine Arts) at Canterbury, Kent. He also worked as an art tutor (GCSE-GCE, Foundation course BTEC). Aristos predominately works with the medium of painting, but also flirts with installations, sculpture, illustrations and other designs. At the same time, he participates in different seminars (Art – Creativity), workshops (Art – Media Techniques) and lectures on student guidance. His influences and inspirations derive mainly from the forms of the human figure and portrait. Through experimentation and differentiated painting techniques, textures, brush strokes and colours he creates his own authentic artistic images that capture the true unseen nature of human figures and portraits. Aristos views the human existence as a signifier for broader societal examination and reflection of our identity. For him the human body is beautiful in every form, shape, size, posture or colour. It is our existence, it is the vibrancy of our life, our own surrealism.
