Bio
Born in 1972 in Jérémie in Haiti, Marie Sisley was always very creative. During her youth, she had the chance to live in a city where culture was always in the spotlight. This allowed her to have an overflowing imagination, or often she could even get lost there. As a teenager, she touched in embroidery, the sewing that awakened in her home, her true passion. Art settled permanent residence in his life in 2014, during a period when his body was struggling against a serious disease. Self-taught, she always liked to scribble here and there. To occupy his mind and overcome his loneliness during this difficult period; away from his family and his country, drawing became his escape to express his emotions. As a positive person in life in general, Sisley uses color to bring joy to her works. This touch energizes the expression of her emotions and remind us that there is always sunshine despite the suffering and loneliness of the moment. In 2019, she decided to enroll at UQAM in a certificate program in visual art to improve her knowledge, learn new techniques to better exploit her potential and work professionally. Today, she works in acrylic with knives and brushes, but I’m still looking for her style. She wants to share with others her emotions and the moments of wellbeing and fullness that painting, collage and drawing provide. His first exhibition was in August 2021 at the Griffintown arts festival, with the Montreal art center. In August 2022, she was exposed at Pleasures artists at the Marché Bon Secours in Montreal. I was published in the 2023 catalogue of contemporary international art, as a favorite with art certificate. Also, in art4any #13 of January 2023. She has since participated in various international online art competitions, Fusion Art, HMVC, Space Gallery, Yicca.
