Bio

I was born in Vancouver B.C. Canada. I now reside in Surrey a suburb just outside Vancouver.
I would consider myself an outsider artist because I’m self-taught. I learned my techniques through trial and error. I have created a couple unique techniques that I like to use in my paint-ings. I usually incorporate a grid pattern in my art. The grid represents the matrix of our lives. The grid also represents the many twists, turns and the millions of decisions we make during our lifetimes. I also have created a paste I like to use to give my art more depth and texture. I began painting in 2017 after my wife and I took a painting class at our local recreation center. I caught the painting bug and haven’t stopped painting since. I am drawn to abstraction, sculpture and mixed media. My goal is to push the boundaries of abstraction, always striving to create inter-esting and unique images. I like to incorporate objects into the painting to give a rough sculp-tural texture. I'm trying to blur the lines between painting and sculpture. A few of my art heroes include Francis Bacon, Jackson Pollock, Jean Michelle Basquiat, Gerhard Richter, and Hilma af Klint. I’m an intuitive artist. I will have a basic idea of composition when I start, but then the painting usually goes in a different direction as it evolves. I let my intuition and imagination guide me through the process
