Description: Merete Steinvik Haugen has a love for making commissions that are unique to the customer, telling their story. This is an example of a commission. The customer wanted something that each day reminded them that life has something new for them to discover. The painting has a title that is a line from one of the songs of the customers favorite artist. She chose a line from the song «Kaleidoscope» (by Coldplay) since a Kaleidoscope shows endless possibilities when the same items are rocked. No days are the same. And it motivates to see the beauty in the everyday. The painting itself is somehow made out of those gems, and every day you can see something new in it. A Kaleidoscope gives you the opportunity to see things anew. Also the title is a line from the poem «The guest house» by Rumi. «This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.»
