Bente Halvorsen Bente Halvorsen is a painter from Bergen, west coast of Norway. She started painting almost 20 years ago, while she and her family stayed one year in Spain. During this year, she joined classes with a Swedish painter and learned his skills. Her first painting tools were making tempera, pigmentpowder mixed with egg, milk or even beer. Back in Norway she continued her passion for painting , now using oil- and acrylicpaint. In 2012 she and a friend became collegues, and started whatELSEisnew. There they had their gallery, showing their art and passion for recycling. Workshops for groups and companies were started, where Bente and her collegue guided them through with painting on canvases. Lately in Bergen Bente started having paintingcourses for smaller groups, and find it very interesting learning other people different techniques and how to “build” a painting, step by step. Back in Spain several times, and in 2019 she and her husband got built a finca surrounded by thousands of orangetrees. She got her own studio and lives half of the year in Spain. By being observant during several mountainwalks, she finds inspiration and get many new ideas for new paintings. Bentes paintings themes various from nature to faces as well as abstracts. She needs to have the possibility to paint exactly what she feels for at any time.
