Born in Guadeloupe, Laurent is an artist-author with training in product design.
His artistic work consists in creating a language, a personal mythology thanks to a refined graphics, made of signs, symbols, lines which are either already existing (common on the scale of humanity) and or the fruit of his research graphics. His approach touches several fields and mediums in the field of art (painting, photography, video, drawing, printmaking, 3D digital printing). This graphic and aesthetic work is inspired both by cosmogony, cosmography but also Caribbean syncretism, Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian myth, whose elements together make his approach both surreal and dreamlike. However, in his recent works, Laurent speaks about a specific subject specific to his Guadeloupe and AfroCaribbean identity such as slavery, environmental problems, cultural and linguistic assimilation and alienation, historical, racism that allow him to take a look at his Caribbean identity (past, present and future).
