Bio

I was born 1983, Kyoto.
Influenced by my grandfather and father, who had been drawing as a hobby since childhood, I loved drawing and started to specialize in it from high school.
Growing up in Japan, an education and culture where it is not considered good to be different from others and everyone has to be the same, I could not shake off the feeling of being uncomfortable for a long time. However, when I went abroad for the first time, I was exposed to the value system that being different from others is not a problem, in fact, it is normal, and this is how I established my current style of painting. The reason I use so many colours in my work is because I believe that each person is different and that different colours next to each other enhance each other's colours.
My work, which is a mixture of abstract and figurative, also expresses my values that the world is a mixture of opposites, such as positive and negative, yin and yang, which are constantly fluctuating. This may be something that I have cultivated only by being brought up in the Japanese culture.
