Hello! I am Leanne Powell. My passion for art began at an early age when I began attending a lo-cal art club in the small town of Todmorden. I grew up in the English countryside and my early work was often inspired by the nature around me. I studied art and graphic design at high school but for a long time my art was simply a hobby. Recently that has all changed and my professional art career has begun. My art is about healing the mind and soul. I began using soft pastels about the age of 8 and I still like the flow and softness that can be achieved when using them. My most current passion is acrylic painting.




ARTISTIC STATEMENT

I find painting very therapeutic and mindful. I find the process of painting, creating different sha-pes and textures helps to connect me with my playful inner child. For me art is not just a way we explore and capture our emotions, it is a way of processing them too. My paintings reflect both the joy and the pain we can experience in our daily lives.
