My name is Carla Pennant. I am a Jamaican-born American artist from Atlanta, Georgia. I have been drawing since childhood but began learning to paint in grade school, since eighth grade. Since then I have always taken painting classes, majoring in Art in college with a minor in Spanish. I eventually would like to teach art. Currently I am teaching Language.
As far as my art, I work with many kinds of media, but my favourites are watercolour, torn paper collage, acrylic, and oil pastels. I also enjoy working with ink and have recently started experimenting with Zendoodle/Zentangle. My subjects mainly are landscapes and florals. My work reflects who I am. The bright, vivid colors in many of my works reflect my optimism. The natural subjects reflect my love of the simple things in life and the beauty of it. I hope others see these things when they view my work.
