I am a self-taught painter and I have lived in USA for about 20 years. Born in China, I Grew up in a traditional family. I remember that at 5 years old I used chalk to draw on the ground and pencils to draw on the walls at home, my parents reprimanded me at first but they added a few words of approval after seeing my created works. Since then, they have recognized my talent for art and they have supported me to pursue an artistic career. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to study further and lost time in art. Before retiring I did several kinds of jobs: farmer in the fields, factory work; I studied in college and worked for a foreign trade company. Busy and busy, time flies by… In the 80’s, through self-study English for about 5 years, I obtained a diploma in English literature issued by Shandong University around 1989. In the meantime, after 3 years campus study, I also obtained the Diploma in International trade issued by Shandong Foreign Trade College. During that time, I opened my mind and established my self-confidence. Since 2006, after retirement, I started my journey of artistic creation with watercolor and oil painting. To catch up the time I lost and fulfill my own life value, I have been doing my best in paint every work with my heart. Although many hardships along the way, there are more joys brought by art creation. For many years exploring and practices, my painting style has been confirmed as classic, realistic and contemporary combined. The subjects of my paintings are mainly portraits, figures, seascapes and landscapes. I pay great attention to details and highlights of the subject, emphasizing the pure and bright colors, the distinct layer of tones and the natural and graceful shapes and lines. It is my great honor to exhibit my painting works for the first time in this great event.
