I got inspiration during a phase in which i couldn't sleep for months. Sleepless nights have often brought me to thoughts that were not necessarily logical. I was thinking of the past. I couldn't sleep because of these thoughts. Because of these thoughts i started waking up at the same time every night. This habit continued until i started drawing at night. It's important to mention that i don't use drugs and i never used drugs. I also didn't go to the doctor. I started drawing and i saw this drawing as a dark corner in my mind.
I drew on Canson Mi-Teintes paper with Conté Sketching Pencil.
I consciously selected four elements: skull, dagger, ink pen and owl. Everyone knows that skull is threat or death, daggers symbolise danger but also protection, betrayal and sacrifice. Owl is for wisdom and i see ink pen as a form of communication. I made this drawing before the other drawing,“Abstract Black“, but this drawing is more dark than the abstract one. I see this drawing as research between the conscious and the unconscious thoughts.
This drawing combines the conscious with the unconscious but it is more of an picture from the mind.
