Born in Japan, Emo split her 20’s between New York City, L.A. and Tokyo. Graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in (textile) design during this time. After returning to Japan, started her career as a textile designer in Tokyo. For many years, she has been freelancing in designing original hats and bags. In the past decade, she has re-turned her love of art since her childhood and has been concentrating on creating her mixed media artworks using collage techniques. Emo's artworks inspiration mainly comes from musical instruments and the clothing of Western medieval era. They both are the core influences that came from her childhood environment including her early age piano lessons and her parents running a textile store. Emo hopes her artworks are story-inspiring for each of the people to look at.
