Bio

ISHRAT NAZNEEN (NAZISH) , is a young , emerging contemporary , mixed-media and abstract artist from Hyderabad, India. This humble, high spirited, dynamic and iron-willed mother, student of Hons. Sociology, educator , found her solace in creating /practicing art amidst complete chaos of raising her 3 young kids post her husband's untimely demise in 2017 . Her unwavering spirit to never give up and devote time to enrich her soul's calling , led her to pouring her heart and soul into her intuitive creations. Her artistic capabilities soon garnered immense appreciation directing her towards a new pathway to explore as a contemporary artist. Being highly imaginative and a keen observer of people and situations, her works are not only reflective of her state of mind /feelings/ emotions but a few also carry mesmerizing thought provoking messages inspired by events or her surroundings. She uses her life's setbacks, pain and lessons as fuel to keep going and proudly describes her creative journey as that of "Re-Discovering" herself "through art practice" . She strongly believes, "Good art is not what it looks like , but what it does to you". An avid art / design enthusiast and social worker , her art practice is intuitive, intriguing , conceptual , constantly evolving and experimental. Keeping in view the onset of spring and the context of the exhibition , she has featured a painting here which encapsulates both it's essence in the truest form.
