I'm Maria Adriana Sicobeanu, nick name Adi since I can remember.
Born in Romania, now living in Calgary, Canada. I've also lived many years in Como, Italy build-ing a family from 2006-2015. I'm a mom of 3. I've always been very creative and loved art in all forms. I've connected with theatre, tv acting, makeup artistry, filled countless sketch books with pencil drawings and not to mention my meticulous and precise career as an advanced surgical hair technician for 16 years both in Calgary and in Milano Italy. End year of 2018, life challenged me where words weren't always easy to find and I immediately turned to painting, something very new to me. The moment i picked up the brush and found i was able to release my inner emotions, to empty my soul, my fears, my confessions, "my TRUTH on canvas through abstract art" just gave me so much peace and i haven't been able to let go. Life is so much bigger than to put pause on life and I was given this amazing opportunity, an expressive tool to create and I am IN LOVE. My personal connection is with acrylics, enriched layers and layers of paint and love building on texture surfaces. I create with palette knives, brushes, scrapers, but mostly in-tegrating my hands. The feeling of paint on my bare hands to the touch of the canvas allows that personal connection and thats what I have with all my pantings. My art is inspired by my love of life, the connection I have with nature and with people. You will also see geometrical shaped art within my collection which symbolized the interruptions in life we all have. I love not having boundaries nor any guidelines, I just go where I'm taken. I found a sense of Freedom in Art and I'm still in the experimental stages and happy about the ongoing learning process and seeing where this love takes me. I adore the fact I am being able to share my ride of life with the world.
