Description
This is the view from the back of my granduncle’s house, looking into the interior. If you enter from the front door, you would have to walk all the way to the back to reach the kitchen, so when looking from the back of the house inward, you see the kitchen. There are two windows in the wall, one big and one small. The way of dividing the space to view the scenes inside is quite interesting. There is a red table inside the house, but it is not the same one as in the other pair of paintings. I set some guidelines to ensure that the ten pairs, twenty paintings, in this series have a shared core and concept. For example, the table is one of the few movable objects in this series, so I deliberately angled it. The table is red because I consider red to be the most visually striking of the primary colours. The blue rectangle represents a window. In old houses, it is common to have windows in interior partitioned walls, which I always find a bit puzzling. Or is it originally an exterior window, with a new space adds later? On the left, there is a grey rectangle containing a smaller yellow rectangle, which are two door frames. The grey frame separates the front and middle spaces, and the yellow frame separates the middle and rear spaces.
