I am Michael Davenport. began painting at age 12 and have been painting for 61 years almost no stop. I decided to become an artist when I first saw the paintings of George’s Roualt I found his work so compelling. Previously I was writing poetry but realized I was more truly a painter. Painting is my ecstasy. Of course I have had formal training in private and public schools. I have always pursued my own unique path however. My passion is large paintings but I also paint small. I also sculpt and make prints, drawings and chalk and watercolor, but my preference has always been the painting. I have two grown children Matt and Katrina. I live in a remote valley surrounded by high mountains in the state of Washington in the far northwest corner next to Canada.
