Art by Tar (Tarja Vandergoot) My name is Tarja (Vandergoot) - known as ‘ Art by Tar ’ - and I ’ m a self-taught artist from The Netherlands. I specialize in realism and mixed media art. I love to create energetic and ‘ mysterious ’ portraits. I draw the portraits with graphite pencil (occasionally I use a photo directly on canvas). Then I start painting and go crazy with acrylics, spray paint, collage, stencils, you name it! When I ’ m happy with the result I make a high-resolution photo of the canvas and upload it to the computer where the second part of the process starts: digital painting and enhancements. The end result is manufactured on plexiglass which gives the artwork its vibrant and modern look. For my art, I choose (beautiful) women that have that ‘ special ’ look or mysterious gaze.
