Description:

Lightness of Being

Lightness of Being combines two diverse images. On the left is a fashion side profile of a young woman and on the right a dark close-up of a hand holding the stem of a white calla lily. Furthermore, a flight of yellow butterflies and a leopard superimposed the composition. The contrast created between the overall dark palette and the vibrant yellow and subtle colors of nature creates a stunning visual. The collage highlights the harmony between humanity and nature by having the wild cat mimic the relaxed pose of the woman. A sense of serenity, of lightness, comes through the types of wildlife present. The white flower alludes to innocence, the leopard symbolizes stealth and elegance, and a flight of the butterflies refers to change and renewal.
