Maria Vamvaka I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in Athens Greece. The ancient Greek poet Simonides once said that poetry is a speaking painting and that painting is silent poetry. I adore ‘silent poetry’ which to me is also ‘silent music’. Hence the subject of the painting.
