BIO:
Born and raised in an artistic family, G.GRAAM has been gifted for drawing since he was a child. Self-taught man, he tried his hand at various areas drawing types such as comic book, nature, portrait and human body. The common feature of all his drawings were the black and white color. From his young age, G.GRAAM wanted to demonstrate that we can enhance the soul of the items, scenes and people through a variation of light, shadow of gray or a very light color. It was during his teenage years that he discovered 2 amazing painters who will be greatly influencing my artwork: the French artist Pierre Soulage would bring him the mastery of black and light colors, creating “l’outrenoir” concept; and the American painter Edward Hopper taught him how to draw emotions with his life scenes full of tremendous emotions.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT:
“I wanted to paint the real day-to-day life in which people could relate and contemplate, mix-ing Hopper’s realism and Soulage’s light. Ta-da! I had just created my own signature, a black and white hyperrealism approach with a light color, playing with lights which brings to my paintings a particular atmosphere. Since then, it is my aim to make my universe known, accessible and illuminate the eyes with my light. I draw canvas of up to 2 meters high to provide even more visibility to my artwork. Continuously seeking developing my gift and art, my thoughts are oriented towards news creations, a mix of my current artwork and 3D. This idea is for the public to see the brought-out elements of the paintings to get even closer to reality.”
