In a land where the soils have been poisoned for 700 years, with Kepone pesticide used in the banana plantations until the 1990s, reflecting on the fact that our native deities were lost to us, afrodescendents and offspring of enslaved, is a realization of our being separated from Mother Earth and their spirits through colonization. Zacca, Haitian spirit of harvesting and agriculture is a forgotten God in Guadeloupe. In my exploration of the shades and senses of Blue, I found him and danced among the banana trees, one of its symbolic plants. In this ritual dance, holding the demi-john of memories, I cry on my land under the animist God’s oblivion…
