Artistic Statement Truly, I paint and create what I feel, which is usually layer upon layer of emotions and expressions. I feel most comfortable creating abstracts and often hide objects, signs or symbols in the paintings. Inspiration for me, comes mostly from the earth; specifically, water, the ocean, skies and the natural beauty of the lands around me. Only an artist can understand the true magic of a blank canvas being touched with the first stroke of paint; something invisible coming to life and the anxiousness of deciding when it is complete. Years ago, I decided against commissions, as I felt it removed my genuine creativity. The utmost feeling as an artist is to see a client’s reaction when they connect with a piece of my art or the thrill of installation in a home or business.
