Bio

Héctor Romero Born in Malaga in 1973. Soon he moved with his family to Madrid, where he currently lives. With a restless and creative character, since he was a child it was clear to him that his professional activity would have to be related to design and creativity. He studied interior design and after working in several architecture and design companies, in 2004 he decided to create the VOLTEO studio where he currently works. Carrying out a wide variety of projects, he has received several awards and mentions: 1st Prize: Hotel lobby (Intercidec 2018 competition). 2nd Prize: Bathroom (Interior Design Competition \"Versace Style\" 2017) 1st Prize: Concept Store ( Porcelanosa Architecture and Interior Design Competition 2016) Accesit: Centerpiece (Italcementti-Alessi International Competition 2016) Finalist: Yacht (Porcelanosa Architecture and Interior Design Competition 2015) 1st Prize: Commercial (Porcelanosa Architecture and Interior Design Competition 2014) Finalist: Restaurant (Porcelanosa Architecture and Interior Design Contest 2013) Finalist: Home (Porcelanosa Architecture and Interior Design Competition 2012) 2nd prize: Arab Villa (Interior Design Competition 2012) Accesit: Akaba Stand (Stands Design Contest organized by COAM 2006) 1st prize: Nemetschek Stand (Stand Design Contest organized by COAM 2004) ……………………………………………. He has always liked to paint, going through a variety of styles. Encouraged by some recognitions and the good critics of his art, it is since a few years ago when he decides to make his work visible and start exhibiting in galleries. Familiar with the use of perspective, technical drawing and the creation of spaces, he focuses on a pictorial style that is a mixture of surrealism, architectural minimalism, expressionism, metaphysical ... desolate landscapes where the common link is in the combination of large blocks or forceful volumes, creating disturbing spaces. Impossible perspectives, dreamlike atmospheres where small shadows wander, geometries that betray themselves. He likes to add something more to his works. A touch of mystery and optical illusion, creating forced perspectives with characters on different planes to observe the scene from two different points of view. There are almost always two human figures to give proportion to the composition. Sometimes, it is the same person, represented at the same time in the same place, but in a different point of view. But beyond the pretended game of illusionism that in the end proposes all art, the author offers us a three-dimensional plastic reflection on perspective, light and color. An open window to the world of dreams. 1st Prize Fast Painting Plaza Dalí (2017) 1st Prize Speed Painting Plaza Dalí (2015) 1st Prize Speed Painting Plaza Dalí (2010) Popular Vote Award Speed Painting Plaza Dalí (2019) Selection Fast Painting Retiro (2011) Selection Fast Painting Retiro (2009) Art exhibitions: -Casa de Vacas: Collective exhibition of selected fast painting in Retiro Park - 2009. -Exhibitions Hall ( Daoiz and Velarde): Collective exhibition of selected fast painting at Retiro Park - 2011 -Sala Theredoom: \"Invasion\" (real/virtual artistic intervention) - 2018 -La Ciudad Invisible: (From another perspective) - 2019 - Retiro Park: \"Dual Perspectivity\" - 2019 - Retiro Park: Group exhibition - 2019 -Montsequi Art Gallery (Madrid) - January 2020 -Abartium Art Gallery (Barcelona) - February 2020 -Juca Claret Art Gallery (Madrid) - March 2020 -XXXVIII INTERNATIONAL AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONTEMPORARY ART SHOW -March 2020 -XXXIX INTERNATIONAL AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION Sala Pere Casaldáliga de la Claret (Barcelona) - April 2020 -Montsequi Art Gallery (Madrid) - January 2021
