Sky Came Falling is an ode to the last 24 months of my life. It seemed that right as the world shut down because of Covid-19, my entire life pretty much shut down on all fronts. I lost my day job. My marriage dissolved. And eventually, I moved out of the house my wife and I built together to begin walking my path alone. It felt like the sky had fallen all around me and I didn’t know what to do. Through painting and creation I slowly found my mental health improving and my happiness growing. If you follow from the bottom of the painting to the top, there are hints of flying creatures, but only references… Until right at the top, there is a very obvious soaring eagle, or perhaps a phoenix rising from its ashes, symbolizing my own personal journey of rebirth and recreation.
