Bio
I am an artist born in Vancouver, raised in San Francisco, and living in Tokyo. Alongside my urban life, I draw inspiration from my feelings for nature. I cherish the everyday nature and seasonal changes that I have seen, from the port towns of the West Coast to the dense landscapes of Tokyo, and the emotions that arise from them.
I feel it is my mission to keep painting what I want to paint from my heart. By reflecting raw emotions that are not bound by shapes or frames on the canvas, I want to expand the possibilities of expression not only in painting, but also in free-dom.
I deeply resonate with the attitude of Taro Okamoto as an artist. He did not confine himself to shapes or genres, but always pursued essential values. His works con-vey a strength that makes them seem alive. I am also strongly influenced by Morio Matsui’s works and love of nature. As he said, “Truly wonderful art can feel the universe and nature”, which is also my creed in art.
