Description
“This is my granduncle's house, which he now rents out to another cousin of mine. My granduncle's house is next to my grandfather's house, and although the layouts of the two houses are quite similar, there are still some differences. The ground floor of both houses consists of three adjoining spaces. In this painting, the first space is the one with the blue wall, which is the viewpoint from which the scene is observed. From this space, you can see the space with the red table. To the left of the red table is the wall of the bathroom. The third space is the black space, which also contains a yellow window that opens to the back of the house. In the space with the red table, I paint the ceiling, the right wall, and the floor white. Originally, they are supposed to represent three different spaces, but I want to create a sense of rotation in the space, so I merge them into a single space. Below the red table is its white shadow. In the black-and-white version of this painting, the table's shadow is black, which is my original concept. However, in this version, I attempt a spatial exchange, creating a black space under the red table, with the white shadow of the red table inside it.”
