Knappy Fogle
Painter
Bio
“My paintings are pure emotion inspired, no grand narratives to explain them. They are just my inner demons speaking through the female form. You can express despair, sadness, regret, and hope all in a single look.”
Growing up in the woods of middle America Knappy always felt a sense of beauty around him. All the time in the world to reflect and create. He went to an advertising design trade school but found it immediately too restrictive. A tattoo artist for 27 years, he was inspired by the permanence of tattooing, and the challenges to be creative regardless of your mood. In 2009 he began to Paint. Taught by a Fine Art Painter, he fell in love with the expression of Acrylic Painting and hasn’t stopped. He is now an accomplished Fine Art Portrait and Figurative Painter, currently residing in Arizona. “Attracted to the blank canvas, with no restrictions.” Knappy says, “Feeling the weight or burdens of the world melt away as I greet the empty canvas, all of that potential is what keeps me painting.”
