Description:
The artwork depicts a young woman with a sweet but glacial gaze, staring at an undefined point beyond the boundaries of the painting. The work is extremely textural and this is made possible by the layers of adhesive paper glued onto the surface, which are skilfully blended with essential brushstrokes. The irregular marks made with the brush create a kind of scratched drawing made of "smudges" that make the various tones vibrate, reminiscent of the Impressionist technique. The colour of the background, the metallic pink of the shirt and the intense blue of the hair contribute to create areas of contrast, dividing the entire composition. Paolo Vignati thus wants to give a clear mark to the construction of the image, leading the observer to gather all these clues for a more complete understanding of the work.
