Bianca Arntz My name is Bianca Arntz and I live in Sittard, The Netherlands. After working as a secretary, I started a family with my husband Roland. As the children grew up, I started what I always dreamed of … taking painting lessons. For about 8 years I took lessons from renowned painters in a local painting class. Finally, I started a 5-year study at the Art Academy in Maasmechelen (Belgium). I successfully graduated in 2019 with an exhibition and continued with a two-year master's degree to specialize and further develop my own style. Memories that come up, by looking at photos from the past together with my mother (96 years old), I paint on all possible surfaces and different formats. I use oil paint, ink, charcoal and pastel to portray the atmosphere and emotions associated with those photos as I feel them myself. You can compare it by a scent that you smell or a color that you see somewhere which evokes a memory. I try to paint an atmosphere reminiscent of the past. The viewer does not necessarily have to have the same feelings, but it is nice to hear what people think of when they see my works which are figurative but also often stem from intuition.
