Bio

dilemma1 - my identity in the art world - feeling at home in digital art and especially creative computing. Growing in the information technology industry for many years, I am generally passionate about scientific topics from medicine, ancient and modern, to mathematics over finance. But on the same day, I paint a watercolour image of fishing boats. A dilemma? No, not in my eyes. I don't have to choose between different ways of expressing myself artistically and in life. Wandering through the world and discovering new things, I have the freedom to develop myself in any direction at any time. It is probably this adventurous drive that characterizes me and my art interpretation best - it is all about evolution.
What I admire about digital art, especially creative computing, is the tangible, the logical and mathematical aspect at the beginning of the creative process. Just two building blocks, zero and one, and all builds on them - being processed to create colours, geometric shapes and patterns and even thoughts. Creative computing turns into generative art with randomization - clear structures broken up - individual images are created, which I put together again and again. Do I let this happen randomly or do I stick to a structure? Do I take 0 or 1? 1 is true and 0 is false. Now I have a dilemma. As an autodidact, this process challenges me and broadens my horizon again and again. It's an experience I find exciting and with my art I hope to share a glimpse of this excitement and maybe spark the same in my audience.
